As we head into the second week of the Championships at Wimbledon 2019, we are salivating over the possible semi-final match-up between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. They both need two wins to make the dream come true but it’s hard not to get excited.
Federer leads 2-1 over Nadal at Wimbledon while Nadal won their last encounter at this year’s Roland-Garros convincingly. That loss on clay snapped Federer’s five match winning streak against Nadal, including the 2017 Australian Open final. Although any match between the storied legends at this stage of their careers is cherished, to play on Federer’s favourite surface this time around is especially enticing.
Indeed, every edition of Fedal is an honour and a privilege, considering we don’t know how many more we have left. For nostalgia, this video was their first meeting in Miami 2004 where the young Spaniard announced his arrival with a 6-3 6-3 win.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7T8SLvVl28
